Advancing Equity in the Primary School: Classroom Perspectives from Three Primary School Teachers

NAEYC’s recent position statement of advancing equity encourages teachers to teach so that students can achieve their full potential as valuable engaged learners in society. Hear and apply successful best-practices employed by three diverse primary school teachers. During the session, participants will create a brief outline of a plan, using concepts that they have gleaned from the session, on how they can integrate advancing equity into their teaching and curriculum.


About Reginald Williams

Reginald Harrison Williams is Associate Professor Early Childhood Education. His research expertise involves homeless parent involvement, assessment, and the use of performance-based coaching in training pre-service public school teachers. He holds AB in English from Duke University, a MAT from SC State University, and a Ph.D. from USC-Columbia.
